Non-Culinary Usage of Cheesecloth

Despite Cheesecloth is named for its most common usage in the kitchen, there are several other benefits of it. Cheesecloth can be used for cleaning, row covering, decoration and many more.

Row Cover

Cheesecloth is a traditional row cover for starting plants and protecting them from the elements and insects. It is reusable and, when worn out, compostable! Extend the season in spring and fall by shielding your early and late crops with cheesecloth. Keep the plastics out of the garden and go natural with these light weight fabric row covers.

Cleaning

100% Cotton cheesecloth are excellent for cleaning smooth surfaces. They are very absorbent and chemical free.

Halloween Decoration

Cut and rip the cheesecloth into strips while keeping them connected on one end, so it acts like a garland. You can hang above from doorways, windows, or fixtures, or drape on a mantel or through a table scape or vignette.
